A soft, semi-solid grey background carries quiet hints of bordeaux, like the last color left in the frost before spring stirs. Across the skein, an electric olive green surfaces: the frogs, waking from their winter sleep.
This hand-dyed assigned pooling yarn carries a contrasting section that repeats along the skein. Switch to a stitch of your choice the moment you reach that section, and the motif builds itself as you go.
This colourway is non-directional: the colour sequence reads the same from either end of the skein, so there is no wrong place to start.

A note on this base: as with all non-superwash yarn, the skein can feel a little more rustic straight off the needles, and blooms into something wonderfully soft after its first wash.
