Cairngorms takes its name from the Scottish mountain range, where heather slopes meet weathered granite. This tonal, variegated colourway moves through soft moss and deep forest green, flecked throughout with cool grey, echoing granite breaking through a heather covered hillside. The tones shift gently from skein to skein, so each one has its own character.

Fiber content

51% Tibetan yak, 49% extrafine merino (non-superwash)

This yarn is woolen-spun, giving it a fluffy, airy halo and warmth, along with a rustic, textured hand rather than a sleek or smooth one. Being non-superwash, it has some natural tooth straight off the skein, and blooms and softens further with washing, blocking, and wear. The merino brings gentle structure and good memory for lace patterns, while the yak adds depth and warmth.
