Sustainable Hand Dyed Yarn: Auridon Yarns and Eco-Friendly Wool Processing

At Auridon Yarns we believe that craftsmanship and sustainability can go hand in hand. Our passion for unique, hand-dyed yarns goes beyond colour and texture – we also want to have a positive impact on the world around us. That is why we work carefully to create the most environmentally friendly dyeing process possible.
Green Energy and Efficient Painting Process
Our yarns are dyed using a solar-powered oven, making optimal use of renewable energy. This not only saves electricity, but also ensures that the heat is used efficiently. In addition, we minimize our water consumption by applying smart techniques that maximize the absorption of dyes.
Conscious Materials and Product Choices
We work primarily with high-quality natural fibers and are continuously looking for more sustainable alternatives. We are currently investigating the possibilities of a locally spun, non-superwash yarn as an eco-friendly alternative. In addition, we aim to switch to a more environmentally friendly type of dye that has less impact on the environment.
Timeless and Sustainable Knitting
Sustainability is not just about production, but also about the end result. A garment knitted or crocheted with love lasts for years and is often passed on from generation to generation. In this way, we and our customers contribute to a slower, more conscious way of consuming.
At Auridon Yarns, sustainability remains a process of continuous improvement. We are always looking for ways to make our dyeing process, our materials and our packaging even more environmentally friendly. With every skein we dye, we are building a colorful, sustainable future.
