Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the yarn I see in the shop ready to ship?
Yes, all the yarn you see in my store is ready to go. If a yarn is sold out and you'd like to purchase some, please send me a message (info@auridonyarns.com) to let me know and I'll dye a special batch just for you.

What dye do you use?
I only use professional, high standard acid dyes to dye my yarn. Also, to cure the dye, I use various types of acid. No other chemicals are used in my studio.

Can I request a specific colour way?
Yes, I do requests. (and I enjoy them very much!!) Please reach out to me by e-mail to let me know what you're after.

Can I order larger quantities (bulk) or purchase as a retailer?
Yes, you can! I’m happy to take on larger dye batches or wholesale orders. Please send me an email (info@auridonyarns.com) with what you’re looking for, and I’ll let you know about lead times and pricing.

What is your return or exchange policy? What if a colour doesn’t match my expectations or arrives damaged?
You have 30 days from the delivery date to return your order. Yarn must be unused, in its original condition, and with the label still attached.
Please note that custom-dyed or special-request colourways are exempt from returns, as they are made to order.
If there’s any issue with your order, please get in touch within those 30 days so I can help you find a solution.

Can skeins from the same colourway vary slightly? What if I need multiple skeins for one project?
All yarn is hand dyed in small batches. While I take great care to achieve consistent colours, slight variations can occur between skeins. If you’re ordering several skeins for a single project, I recommend alternating skeins every few rows to blend the colours naturally.

How should I wash and care for the yarn? Hand wash or machine wash? Should it be laid flat to dry?
Hand wash gently in cool water with a mild wool detergent. Lay flat to dry. Avoid wringing or twisting to keep the fibers beautiful for years to come.

What happens if my parcel is lost or arrives damaged?
If your parcel arrives damaged or doesn’t arrive at all, please contact me as soon as possible. I’ll work with the carrier to find a solution or arrange a replacement where possible.

If something is sold out, how long does it usually take for you to restock? Can I be added to a waiting list?
Restocks can vary quite a bit depending on the colourway and base, but I can usually dye more within a week or so if you reach out. You can also click the “Notify me when back in stock” button on the product page to get an automatic email as soon as it’s available again.

Shipping

What carrier(s) do you use? What about shipping times?
Generally, I ship with Fedex. I can ship with our local carrier as well except to US customers, I apologise. Shipping times vary, but generally you'll have your yarn within a week. You will always receive tracking data upon shipping.

How is the yarn shipped?
If the yarn remains inside the Netherlands, then I only use 1 layer (outside) of packaging material. If the shipment crosses the border however, I always double-wrap the yarn in order to protect it from critters and clumsy delivery staff. :) If you have specific requests, please let me know and I will try to work something out.

What about tariffs?
For all the US customers: all tariffs are taken care of before I will ship. Therefore, you will not receive any bills or invoices after receiving your parcel.

Why don't you ship orders under 135 GBP to the UK?
Due to post-Brexit VAT rules, EU-based sellers like me are required to register with HMRC and collect UK VAT on all orders under 135 GBP. That system is complicated and not practical for small businesses.
To avoid delays and confusion for customers, I currently only ship UK orders over 135 GBP. For larger orders, VAT and customs are handled at import, so you can still shop without any problems.

Do you have a question and you can't find the answer? Let me know and I'll get back to you ASAP.

With love,
Sophie
