Diving Into Colour: My Adventure with Hand-Dyed Yarn

If you'd told me a year ago that I'd start my own yarn-dyeing business, I probably would have laughed out loud. My career was in the medical world: serious, structured, and, let's be honest, often rather grey. I love my work, but I also needed something where I could let my creativity run free, something full of colour, texture and inspiration. And that's how I stumbled into the wonderful world of hand-dyed yarn.

Knitting and crochet have always been part of my life, and I've long been fascinated by the magic of hand-dyed yarn. The endless shades, the way colours blend and dance across the fibres, and the excitement of a skein transforming into something unique. It's pure art. I draw inspiration from everywhere: the deep blue ocean, an autumn forest full of warm tones, or the soft gradients of a sunset over a mountain landscape. Every skein I dye carries a touch of that wonder.

This is my very first dive into entrepreneurship, and there is so much to learn! From perfecting dyeing techniques to setting up a webshop, every step is a new adventure. But that's exactly what makes it so much fun. This isn't just about selling yarn; it's about discovering, experimenting, and above all, having fun. I'm starting small, with carefully chosen colour combinations and unique assigned pooling yarns that are becoming my signature. I want every maker who works with my yarn to feel the same excitement I do while creating it.
